Rooted in community, growing through music.

About Seeding Strings

Our Mission

We bring free and low-cost music education to young children in their communities, nurturing creativity, confidence, and connection where they live, learn, and grow. Seedling Strings is committed to providing accessible music education and being operated by the community it serves.

Our Work

Seedling Strings is a 5-year novel early childhood music education program using the String Sprouts curriculum. Sprouts is designed for young children, ages 4-10, with roots in the Suzuki violin method and El Sistema, that emphasizes fun and community building.

We bring these classes to underserved communities by providing instruments for affordable weekly group lessons and parent/caregiver education sessions, opportunities to perform, and an annual concert with a symphony orchestra. Sprouts is a proven curriculum that reaches children at a critical stage in their development and impacts school readiness skills.

Our classes perpetuate a successful academic trajectory while empowering young students with the ability to make art, read music, and perform for large audiences.
